Dry Ridge Archery Bow Care Tips

Congratulations on your Dry Ridge Archery traditional bow purchase. It is our hope that your bow provides you years of pleasure and reliability. We, at Dry Ridge Archery, take great pride in our work and our commitment is to stand 100% behind our product. As a bow owner, there are steps that you can take to ensure that your bow remains reliable and in excellent shape for years to come. Please follow these tips to ensure your Dry Ridge Archery traditional bow will provide you with years of enjoyment

  1. Never string your bow without a stringer. Not using a stringer is one of the quickest ways to provoke limb damage.
  2. Never leave your bow strung in a hot environment. If you must keep your bow in a hot environment (i.e. your vehicle) for an extended period of time, always unstring the bow, wrap the bow in a blanket and keep out of the sun. Always wait for the bow to cool down before attempting to string. Failure to take precautions against this will void the warranty of your bow.
  3. Your bow can be strung for long periods of time and still be functional. It is recommended that if you are storing your bow, that you do not store the bow standing on end. This can cause limb twist over a period of time. It is recommended that the bow be stored on a rack or on its side.
  4. Never shoot your bow with arrows that weigh under 8 grains per pound of bow weight. Your bow is designed as a hunting bow, not a target bow. Shooting ultralight arrows can damage your bow and will void the warranty.
  5. Never shoot a fast flight string on a non-fast flight equipped bow. This can cause damage to the bow tips and/or riser.
  6. Never dry fire your bow.
  7. Always monitor your bow string. String loop wear will occur over time and having a string break is the same as dry firing your bow. It is the owner’s responsibility to monitor the bow string.
  8. If you have a take down bow, never string the bow without having all four alignment pins installed in the riser. The pins are used to ensure perfect limb alignment. Not using both pins on each limb can cause the limbs to be out of alignment which cause the limbs to twist and possibly break.
  9. If you have a take down bow, ensure the limbs are seated snuggly against the riser before tightening the limb bolts down. This assures a tight fit between the limbs and the riser and helps prevent bow noise.

We at Dry Ridge Archery are confident that if you follow the above Tips, your bow will provide you years of enjoyment and satisfaction. If you have any questions on your bow, please contact Tim Duvall at 724-787-2793.
